Cultural Activities
Cultural life at SMHS is rich and varied. Festivals, national days and school celebrations are part of the annual calendar, giving students opportunities to perform, organise and lead events that go well beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to take ownership of cultural programmes, building confidence, communication skills and teamwork in the process.
Literary Activities
Reading, writing and expression are woven into daily life at SMHS through the Bag Free Learning programme and the DEAR initiative. Debates, storytelling, quizzes and NIE activities develop language skills and the confidence to articulate ideas clearly.
Sports Activities
SMHS believes physical development is as important as intellectual growth. The school offers a comprehensive range of sports with structured coaching and participation in both in-school and inter-school competitions. Students regularly participate in inter-school tournaments, building competitive spirit, resilience and fair play.

Student Council
The Student Council is where school leadership genuinely begins. From the Head Boy and Head Girl to House Captains, student leaders take responsibility for organising events, representing peers and acting as the working bridge between faculty and the student body.
Project Based Learning
Some of the most memorable work at SMHS happens in project teams. Students take on real-world problems, plan their approach, divide responsibilities and see ideas through from concept to working outcome. The result is not just an output — it is the experience of collaborating, problem-solving and owning a piece of work from start to finish.
Vocational Education
Beyond the academic timetable, students at SMHS roll up their sleeves for hands-on sessions in Financial Literacy, Basic Coding and Craftsmanship. These are workshops in the truest sense — practical, applied and designed to leave every student with skills they can actually use outside the school gate.
SEWA: Community Outreach Programme
SEWA takes students out of the classroom and into the wider community. Local outreach projects, environmental drives and awareness campaigns put learning to use in places where it matters. The programme runs through the year, giving every Suprabhatian a regular reminder that an education is meant to serve more than the person who receives it.
Student Led Conferences
Once a year, the conversation about a student’s progress looks different at SMHS. The student leads it. Portfolio in hand, they walk their parents through their own work — what they have learnt, where they have grown and what remains to be sharpened. It is often the moment a Suprabhatian first takes full ownership of their learning.
Student Achievements
Achievement at SMHS is recognised, recorded and remembered. From national sports trophies to Science Fair wins, every notable student accomplishment finds a place on the school’s Wall of Fame — a permanent acknowledgement of the talent and effort within these walls.
Robotics & AI Frontiers
The SMHS Robotics Lab is a working space for students to engage with automation, AI and applied engineering. The programme combines an AI-aware curriculum with hands-on kit building, so students learn both the mechanics of how machines work and the responsibility that comes with building them.
Student Exchange Programme
SMHS facilitates both virtual and physical student exchanges with partner institutions, opening the campus to perspectives from across the world. Through these programmes, students share cultural insights, collaborate on global projects and build the kind of perspective that only direct exposure to other cultures can produce.
SMHS Publications
SMHS publishes an annual e-Newsletter and e-Magazine, capturing the best of school life each year, from academic milestones and sporting achievements to cultural performances and student voices.
